A Word with Andrew Sean Greer
Tuesday, June 16, 6:00 p.m.:
Join us for “A Word with Writers,” featuring Andrew Sean Greer in conversation with Emily Zipps, at the South Broadway Cultural Center in Albuquerque. This event, sponsored by Bookworks and the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation, in partnership with the Festival, celebrates the release of Greer’s book Villa Coco and is presented in collaboration with AMP Concerts. Admission includes a paperback copy of Villa Coco and a donation to the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation. Click here for information.
Open Call for Storytellers
Sankofa Arts Alliance of New Mexico, a newly established organization committed to celebrating and amplifying the voices of Black artists and creators in New Mexico, is hosting the Cookout Black Writers Showcase during Vital Spaces’ annual Juneteenth celebration on the Santa Fe Plaza on June 20, 2026.
Sankofa is now accepting writing submissions for this community-centered event that honors Black stories and highlights the creativity and voices of Black and African American storytellers living in New Mexico. Writers who identify as Black or African American must be current residents of, born in, or work in New Mexico.
The submission deadline is this Sunday, May 31, 2026.
An Evening with Hampton Sides

We’re excited to present a conversation with Festival author Hampton Sides and Ed Roberson in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Sides’s book Blood and Thunder. This event is hosted in collaboration with Collected Works at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe. Click here for more information.
