It’s long been our belief that reading is a social act. Each time you recommend a book to a friend, share a magazine article with a colleague, read a story to a child, you’re inviting them to explore the wider world. Stories spark our curiosity and help us make sense of events and each other.

Your support allows us to dream big for this one-of-a-kind event and to expand our efforts to encourage reading and writing in the young people who will shape our future. Reading is a golden ticket. It opens minds and hearts and shows us new roads to try. But it does not support us financially, alas.

As we prepare for the 2025 Festival, scheduled for May 16–18, we need your help to ensure that it continues to thrive.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

Your gift helps us present another outstanding lineup of authors, including Percival Everett, Amy Tan, Michael Pollan, Miranda July, Heather Cox Richardson, Michael Cunningham, and Terry Tempest Williams.

Ticket sales cover less than half of our operational costs, which is why we are reaching out to you during this season of giving. Your gift will help us provide:

Accessibility: Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Festival, and your gift will help keep ticket prices affordable.
Engagement: Your support allows us to offer free tickets for students and educators, cultivating a love of reading and writing in future generations.
Programming: In addition to a stellar author lineup, your contribution allows us to offer free workshops and community events that make the Festival even more enriching for a wider audience.

We envision the Festival as a collaborative event where world-class authors and passionate readers listen, talk, and think freely about their interests, values, and experiences, a space where preconceived notions are challenged and common ground is shared.
