As many of you know, the talented and beloved Tracy K. Smith appeared at the 2024 Festival. She is also an opera librettist who wrote the libretto for The Righteous.

The Santa Fe Opera has extended a very generous offer for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30: a special discounted ticket price of $15 (plus a $6 handling fee) for The Righteous, the Opera’s 19th world premiere.

Kevin Newbury directs an intriguing new production set in the American Southwest. This world premiere by composer Gregory Spears and Pulitzer Prize–winning poet Tracy K. Smith features an all-star cast that includes Anthony Roth Costanzo, Michael Mayes, Elena Villalón, Jennifer Johnson Cano, and Greer Grimsley, among others. Jordan de Souza makes his Santa Fe Opera conducting debut.
