The Santa Fe International Literary Festival is made possible by its dedicated volunteers. In 2025, more than 200 volunteers filled over 460 shifts, contributing more than 1,830 hours in support of Festival operations, authors, and guests. We are so very grateful!
Volunteering at the Festival
BACKUP Volunteers
Our volunteer team for 2026 is currently at capacity, but we welcome you to join our backup list.
By completing the backup volunteer form, you’ll be notified about unfilled shifts—some last-minute. Openings typically occur if registered volunteers are unable to cover all shifts or adjust their availability in the lead-up to the Festival. While placement is not guaranteed, we do fill roles from this list as needs arise.
REGISTERed Volunteers
To support a positive guest experience and ensure equitable access to shifts, shift sign-up opens in waves:
March 1 – Priority access for volunteers from the immediate previous year (NOW OPEN. Please contact us if you did not receive instructions.)
March 7 – Early access for volunteers from prior years (NOW OPEN. Please contact us if you did not receive instructions.)
March 15 – Shift sign-up opens to new volunteers who have already registered. (EMAIL INSTRUCTIONS SENT MARCH 9TH - Contact us if you did not receive this.)
