Mobility Assistance

ADA Wheelchair Icon

Mobility assistance is available for guests who use a wheelchair or walker, have limited mobility, or have difficulty standing, walking, or waiting in line.

What’s available

  • ADA-accessible entry to the Convention Center.

    • Ramp located on the Grant Avenue side.

  • Reserved accessible seating in Premium, Choice, and General Admission sections.

  • Early entry, ADA-designated lines, and limited seating outside the Main Stage and Conversation Stage for guests who cannot stand for long periods.

  • Volunteer escort to accessible seating (one companion may accompany you upon early entry).

There is no mobility equipment rental of any kind offered by the Literary Festival or Santa Fe Community Convention Center.

Vision Assistance

Vision assistance is available for guests who are blind or have low vision and may need support navigating the venue or accessing seating.

What’s available

  • Assistance with navigation and wayfinding inside the Convention Center.

  • Support accessing reserved seating in Premium, Choice, and General Admission sections.

  • Volunteer assistance as needed to help orient guests to spaces and services, upon availability.

Listening Assistance

Listening assistance is available for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing.

What’s available

  • Volunteers to assist with the ListenWIFI app and check out headsets.

  • Closed-captioned livestreaming available in the Lamy/Peralta Quiet Listening Room for Main Stage author talks.

  • Assistive listening devices provided by the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.

    • For guests without Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids, a free assistive listening device can be borrowed at the Festival Information Desk. You’ll be required to leave identification and contact information upon checkout. 

    • While the listening devices come equipped with an earpiece that slips over your ear, you may wish to bring your own higher-quality headphones, such as those that come with most smartphones, for better sound quality.

  • Bluetooth audio streaming for guests with Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids, provided by the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.

    • Reduces background noise and improves sound clarity through the Convention Center’s dedicated accessibility Wi-Fi.

    • Be aware that sound through the app has about a half-second lag time.

    • Enabled for Main Stage and Conversation Stage author talks.

    • For the best experience, please download the ListenWIFI/Listen Everywhere app to your phone before arriving at the Convention Center. If you’re unable to do so, instructions will be provided on-site.

Quiet Listening Room

The Quiet Listening Room is available for guests who prefer a calm, low-stimulation environment to view select Festival programming with closed captioning.

What’s available

  • The Quiet Listening Room is located in the Peralta/Lamy Room and is accessible from the courtyard.

  • Closed-captioned livestreaming is provided.

  • Livestreaming in the Quiet Listening Room is limited to Main Stage author talks only.

  • Seating is available in a quiet, low-traffic setting and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
